First, you must know the maximum and minimum size of your working pieces. The working width of the sanding machine must be larger than the maximum width of the panels. 2. Stock Removal Requirements

Second, consider how much stock needs to be removed. If your working pieces have uneven thickness or rough surfaces and you need to remove 1 mm or more in one pass, a planer sander is recommended. However, if the surface has already been processed and only requires fine sanding, a double-belt sander may be sufficient.

3. Current Working Process

Lastly, consider the stage of your production line where the sanding machine will be used. If the machine is for material preparation before assembly, choose accordingly.
